Diplomatic Immunity Denied

Career diplomats all have postings they dream of – and one would have thought that South Africa with it’s façade of first world infrastructure will be a favourite posting, at least on the continent.

This is apparently not the case. In 2008, a Nigerian diplomat tried to resist posting to South Africa at a time when many Nigerian politicians were complaining about being mistreated by South African border controls.

We expose how the xenophobic attacks that took place on South African streets with burnt bodies had their first dress rehearsal via the bodies of elite Africans in that liminal space of the airport.
